Week 11 : Mini Links : Extreme Plane Landings at Maho Beach

Today is finally Friday! This week seemed very long and I am glad the weekend is here again. We all need it. Time to recharge.

Here is the start of my Friday mini links again – posted all through the weekend.

For the first one, please be amazed at this “beach on the Dutch side of the Caribbean islands. It is known for all the low-flying airliners, which fly so closely above the beach that people can actually be blown into the water because of the jet blast (or that’s at least what the local government signs warn you about).”

This is actually a tourist attraction – it freaks me out! But seems kinda fun too, to be blown into the water!

This reminds me of how big the world actually is and how much or how little we have actually experienced and seen.plane-landing-maho-beach-9If you like this, see this, this and this.

For other stuff, see this, this and this.

  1. I can definitely recommend St Maarten as a holiday destination…. my daughter lives there and we visit often… especially sitting at the bar on Maho Beach and seeing the landings… they are sure a phenomenon… but you don’t want to be blown by the engines… that would hurt big time… as its hot… and sandy…

    1. oh my goodness, so you have experienced it!!
