It is Friday again or maybe it is still Thursday at your place, depending on where in the world you are. Anyhow, it is almost the weekend!
And it is time for our weekly mini links! Similarly I will be posting the links all through the weekend.
I am starting it off with something that I think we should all know and remember – I read about this and freaked out. I remember eating a lot of these when I was young, because I love banana splits. And my mum used to bring us to Swensens when we were young and after our exams. They were a real treat as they were always delicious and it signified the end of exams and the beginning of school holidays!
After reading this, you will never want to eat a maraschino cherry ever again. Some things are better left unknown – once you know it, it is ruined forever…
This is a bowl of real, authentic, bona fide cherries that might be harvested in Oregon or Washington.
How did those cherries become these?
And later they get soaked in for 3 weeks in Red #4 and high fructose corn syrup – just so you know, Red #4 is usually made from crushed beetles.
Still wanna have the cherries on top of your banana split?
