$23: Not bad for 2 pizzas

pizzas

Our dinner last night!

This was our dinner last night, after our gruelling body combat workout. Yes we exercise so that we can eat pizzas.

We ordered takeaway from a new pizza place called Napolizz Pizza – they currently have an ongoing promotion where you can get 1-for-1 pizzas. We actually wanted to try this out last weekend but did not. I am always happy to share good eating spots so here we go.

I called them last evening to check if we could takeaway 2 pizzas and if they could be different, instead of the same type. You know how some places will have an ongoing promotion but they restrict the hell out of your choices? Well, that was what we expected so we were happily surprised when we could have 2 different types of pizzas rather than just 1.

I have always wondered about promotions like 1-for-1, when they insist that you can only choose 1 type: who would wanna eat 2 of the same pizzas?

We ordered and drove there to Upper Paya Lebar and they were ready for our collection. The lady from the shop even called us to tell me that they were ready. Service was brisk and friendly when we showed up to collect the pizzas.

We ordered these 2 types, and paid only $23.

– Pizza Napolizz: Mozzarella, Tomato, Bacon, Baby Spinach, Egg and Gorgonzola ($22)

– Pizza Rucola Parma: Mozzarella, Tomato, Parma Ham Rucola Salad, Shaved Parmesan Cheese ($23)

The pizzas are 12 inches and are available in thin crust only (authentic italian). Just what we liked!

They were still warm when we reached home and we dug into our pizzas. I am happy to share that the crusts were very well done and crispy and the ingredients were fresh and the amount of parma ham, cheese, spinach, bacon etc were generous. We had some gouda cheese in the fridge and we shaved them onto the pizzas as well.

I loved the burnt bits on the crust of the pizza and rolling up each slice to get all the ingredients together, in 1 bite.

Apart from pizzas, this place also serve pastas, salads, oven-baked dishes and dessert. They offer free delivery for orders above $50. Orders below $50 are subjected to a delivery charge of $4. I think a charge of $4 is very reasonable especially since you don’t have to drive there just to pick up the pizzas. And we definitely like the idea of paying $23 for 2 pizzas.

We will definitely order the pizzas again and will try other flavours! Here is what I want to try next:

Pizza Napoletana: Mozzarella, Tomato, Anchovies, Olives Capers and Oregano

Pizza Italian: Mozzarella, Tomato, Salami, Chicken Sausage, Garlic, Artichokes and Mushroom

Pizza Quattro Formaggi: Mozzarella, Gorgonzola, Scamorza, Ricotta

It is a very small shop space and customers come and pick up the pizzas as there are no dine-in spaces available. This type of concept reminds me of our holidays, in New Zealand or Whidbey Island, Seattle where customers call ahead of time to order their pizzas and drive by to pick them up.

Next time, we can get 2 pizzas, gelato from Artisan Alfero Gelato and have a nice picnic at the playground nearby! Sounds like a plan!
