Singapore: Great Find – Gliders Sports Bands

I  would like to share a hidden place in Singapore that I go to often.

Front of shop, look how retro it looks!

We come to Rey Im Cosmetic House whenever we need to replenish our toiletries. It is an extremely small and tight little store in Katong Shopping Centre but boy, is it well-stocked. Parking in this super old cramped shopping centre carpark is not easy but it is worth it. This shop sells everything at least 10-25% cheaper than other commercial toiletries stores. They even sell medicine, perfumes, makeup, branded skincare like SK II and Lancome etc.

We usually come at least once a month to stock up on shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, powder, earbuds, cotton pads etc. You name it, we have bought it here before. The store is owned by an old uncle and he has a small ‘army’ of aunties, with him in the store, to help you locate the product you want. Because the store is very small, you have to know where things are or you go round in circles. We have been coming here since we were young and we really enjoy scouring through the shelves of treasures..

See how many products there are, to maximize space in the tiny shop

Recently I spotted this sports bands in the store. They even sell sports bands now! I was just looking for an appropriate band to tie my hair for gym combat classes and these are truly wonderful. They do not come loose when you are exercising vigorously and yet when you untie them after the class, I like it that it doesn’t yank any hair out with it. Frequently, the bands that I have bought before are either too tight, too loose or when I untie it, I will inevitably yank off a few strands of hair too.

It is so good my sister wants the pink color one (have since bought for her) and our good friend has it too! They come in a variety of colors so you can choose what you like! I bought the brown one so it blends in with my hair color.
